I have been playing around with a new site lately called TerraClues. It is a great site that allows teachers to create a map based scavenger hunt, then students use an interactive map to find the answers. There are a variety of hunts already created in a variety of subjects.

Possible Classroom Uses:

  • Civil War Quiz over battles
  • Recreate the Lewis and Clark Expedition
  • Learn the states, capitals, continents and oceans
  • Locate rivers, mountain ranges, and other features

All while improving map skills in a fun and interactive way. I promise that you kids won’t even realize they are learning!!!

Here is a short clip of what students would experience. This activity is geared toward the 2nd-3rd grade crowd and they are working on identifying the 7 continents.
